CBC ticker this AM. Businesses in canada can charge a fee for the use of credit cards starting today. The idea is to offset the cost of completing a transaction. So what does that mean.

1- small business will be disadvantaged- what thats impossible!! Those businesses that process large numbers of transactions get lower rates per transaction. Megabox for example pays much less than Ma and Pa corner store and rug emporium. 2-Does charging more per transaction add to inflation. Odd timing, at the same time the central banks are raising rates to curb inflation the government purposfully enables another platform to increase price thereby inflation?

3- Will extra fees for cash be far behind. How hard a sell is it, really. “cash is unhealthy,germ ridden, maybe even with trace amounts of IVERMECTIN(ok getting carried away)” “cash is insecure” “cash requires additional accounting procedure” “cash is a criminal insentive” “cash costs the merchant more to handle” “ only criminals and anti vaxxers want cash” “cash can be misplaced /lost” ‘criminals can hide cash” “Good citizens support …..” “only anti-vaxers want cash” “Good citizens support…..” “cashless society makes just society””use cash pay 5% more” Just some of the “phrasology”(my word?) to come…. in the push to promote personal profit based surviellance .

HERE IS THE REALLY INTERESTING THING, will they actually charge the fees.

Only in the areas where poor people live without cars or shopping choice. In a way similar to grocery store pricing.. you know lower quality food at a higher price because you can’t travel to the competitons store. Also for neccassary/mandatory services of course, you know like the local loan shark or payday loan company. Only the poor will pay the tax, hey wait, is the tax added to the fee,,,,,,hmmmmm? Oh Boy now its getting exciting, Will merchants be required to post their actual processing fees on the wall for all to see. I mean afterall its only fair/just if ‘Martha the Poor’ is charged extra because she must finance her life shouldn’t ‘Petre the Rich‘ get a discount because he dosen’t. How will he know what discount he should get if it isn’t posted. we post restraurant cleanliness ratings,,,,, we can use that allready existing system. I feel relieved knowing its all coming together so seamlessly. WAIT WAIT I’m getting carried away agian you see Petre, whom we all love doesn’t really care about the fee. When good ole Petre goes shopping he purchases 2,000 dollars at a time the fee is reduced per voluum and paid once. Martha not so much.

THE FEE HAS BEEN ADDED SINCE THE SECOND WEEK OF CHARGEX, yes I am that old. Does anyone really believe business has been eating the the credit card pertenage for 70 years. OF COURSE NOT, Its in the cost of doing business.

So what is this really about, who advantages themselves now and long term, CBDC. What goals are driving this now of all times,CBDC. Why now, CBDC soon.
